Community Service

Zonta Club of Berkeley/North Bay supports the international mission of advancing the status of women in our local community through hands on service, showering, financial aid, and volunteering with partner ogranizations.

bfhpThree times a year, our club provides and serves brunch to the women and children currently residing in the Women’s Shelter at the Berkeley Food and Housing Project. In addition, we have also collected various clothing items that were donated to the Women’s Shelter.  In the past, we have collected warm coats and sweaters at our annual Holiday Party to benefit the Women’s Shelter.

Done-in-a-Day

Over the past several years, members of our club have completed several Done-in-a-Day projects:

  • Volunteered at the Women’s Cancer Resource Center’s Swim a Mile for Women with Cancer event at Mills College.
  • Donated movie tickets for Elizabeth House residents and their children.
  • Procured date books for Women’s Day Time Drop-in Center.
  • Created buckets of cleaning supplies for First Place Fund for Youth girl’s moving into their first apartments.
